Nicole Messier, RN, BSN, OCN is the Clinical Program Coordinator/Nurse Navigator for the Upper and Lower Gastrointestinal (GI) and Genitourinary (GU) Multidisciplinary Care Cancer Clinics at The University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, VT. Nicole is one of the first Oncology Nurse Navigator–Certified Generalists in the nation. She has served as the Upper GI nurse navigator since the initiation of the Upper GI Multidisciplinary Care Cancer Clinic in January, 2007 and the nurse navigator for the GU Multidisciplinary Cancer Care Clinic, initiated in March 2012.

Nicole graduated from the University of Vermont in 1998 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing and since then has worked as an oncology nurse at The University of Vermont Medical Center.






 
Emma L. Dann RN, MS, OCN, NEA-BC

Symptom Management 

Emma is an Associate Chief Nurse at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.  In that role, she is responsible for clinical care in the Network sites and is the nurse lead for the Collaborative relationships.  She received her BSN in Nursing from the University of New Hampshire, and her MS in Nursing Administration from Northeastern University, and will soon graduate with her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Simmons College.  Emma is a strong advocate for oncology nursing.  She is a member of the NNECOS NAHPAC - Nursing and Allied Health Professional Advisory Committee and currently serves as President of the Southern NH chapter of the Oncology Nursing Society.

 
Elizabeth McGrath DNP, APRN, AGACNP-BC, AOCNP, ACHPN 
Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center / Norris Cotton Cancer Center

Elizabeth McGrath is a nurse practitioner at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in the Norris Cotton Cancer Center, as well as a member of the GI Oncology Program and an Instructor at the Geisel School of Medicine. Elizabeth is an expert in oncology nursing with over 30 years’ experience in both community and academic settings, as a clinician, educator, and researcher and in leadership. She joined the staff of the NCCC in 2009. In 2011 she was a sub investigator in a CDC funded study “Reducing Disparities in Health for Vulnerable Populations in NH and VT: Journey Forward Cancer Survivor Care Planning in the Rural Northeast.” She is a member of the NNECOS Board of Directors, co-chair of NAHPAC, and recently earned her DNP at Northeastern University. Practice interests include symptom management, palliative care and geriatric oncology.


Anna Schaal RN, MSN, ARPN

Pathophysiology of Hematologic Malignancies

Anna Schaal has been a nurse hematology nurse practitioner at the Norris Cotton Cancer Center since 2004. She received her undergraduate BScN at University of Alberta, and her graduate MS from the University of Vermont. Her special interests include multiple myeloma, cancer survivorship and quality of life.

Oncologic Emergencies

Pat Manning is an accomplished oncology nurse with over 35-years of experience in various areas of oncology.  She is an Oncology Certified Nurses (OCN®) and is certified in infusion therapy (CRNI®).  Professional memberships include Sigma Theta Tau, Alpha Chi, Oncology Nursing Society, Infusion Nursing Society, Leukemia/Lymphoma Society, International Myeloma Foundation, and NNECOS. Pat has been an ONS member since 1990, OCN since 1992, and is the founder and president of the Northern Maine ONS Chapter.

Pat is passionate about the care of the oncology patient, patient and staff education, community outreach, patient safety, and healthcare reform.  She received her BSN from Barry University in Miami Florida and also trained at  the Duke University Medical Center as a Clinical RN Intern in the autologous bone marrow/stem cell program in 1992. Pat  trained in both the inpatient and outpatient transplant units and became proficient in apheresis and the collection of peripheral blood stem cells.  

Pat has been married for 36 years and has two children and two granddaughters. 

 

Lisa Chicko MSN, RN, OCN

Lisa worked at Dana Farber/NH Oncology for over 20 years, 11 of those years as an oncology nurse, having held the Nursing Council Co-Chair position. Her current full time position is as a nurse faculty instructor at Franklin Pierce University. Lisa earned her master’s in Nursing Education from Franklin Pierce and is OCN Certified.  She  is a Magnet Champion and has been published in the Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing on the topic of risk factors for patients undergoing chemotherapy for developing chemo induced nausea/vomiting. 


 
Maggie Moore MS, APRN

Maggie Moore is an Advance Practice Registered Nurse specializing in oncology, palliative care, and hospice care. A veteran nurse involved in cancer care since graduating from her undergraduate program in 1981, Moore received her Master’s degree from the Catholic University of America as an Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist, followed by her Nurse Practitioner degree from Boston College in 1991. She plays a key role in helping the MAHHC Oncology Department with initiatives aimed at tailoring cancer treatment to patients’ needs and preferences. Her contributions include setting up screening programs, providing early detection services, and teaching. A skilled instructor who has given numerous presentations to public and peer audiences, she enjoys teaching and mentoring nursing and medical students and works closely with fellow APRNs from Dartmouth Hitchcock on clinical and educational initiatives. In 2014, Moore was named “Best Nurse” in the Upper Valley Region in the Valley Business Journal Reader’s Choice Awards. Her goal is “to provide personalized, excellent care to all patients.” She currently sits on MAHHC committees for palliative care and ethics.
