Remembering Dr. Steven Grunberg

It's hard to believe it's been more than a decade since we lost Dr. Grunberg. We hope that he would be proud of the continued growth of the society to which he was so instrumental and dedicated. 



The Steven M. Grunberg, MD Memorial Lecture was established as an annual tribute to honor the memory of former NNECOS board member and past president, Dr. Steve Grunberg, who passed away September 22, 2013.

A message from NNECOS President, Dr. Steven Larmon

Dear Colleagues,

As the current President of NNECOS, I feel a heavy responsibility to express the sadness we all are feeling with the loss of our friend and long-time supporter Dr. Steven Grunberg.  As our society started to take root in northern New England, Steve lent it a legitimacy that helped it grow.  His research and teaching in supportive care were part of our mantra.  We were proud of his work and our association was proud of him.  He found friendship with us, and we appreciated his friendship.  He was quick, resourceful, caring, witty and fun to be with.  His loss is a great one for his patients, the world of supportive care to which he gave so much of his time, an even greater loss to our society, and our hearts go out to his family and friends who feel the loss even more deeply.
