ASCO's Oncology Practice Insider - Friday, December 16th

If the length of this week's issue of OPI is any indication, things are busy for everyone in community oncology these days!  Top of the list of course is the SGR issue and questions about the 2012 Medicare conversion factor.  As you can see by our article below, Congress has still not resolved even a temporary fix yet but stay tuned...   Continue to follow this important issue and be prepared to reach out to your members of Congress if and when needed.

ASCO's annual Adapting to Changes in Medicare audioconference is scheduled for Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. Eastern.  Mark your calendars now.  I look forward to speaking with all of you on the 4th.

Another important item in this issue is the release of an update to the chemotherapy administration standards jointly developed by ASCO and the Oncology Nursing Society.  Be sure to review the revised standards, share them with the physicians and nurses in your practice, and assess your practice on compliance to the standards.

Have wonderful holidays!
