Rules on Board Certification Have Changed – Important Deadline Approaching
The American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) recently changed Maintenance of Certification requirements for ALL diplomates, regardless of their certification date. In addition to reporting board certification, ABIM will now report whether or not physicians are continuously engaging in MOC activities. ALL board-certified physicians, including "grandfathers," must log in to the ABIM Physician Portal and enroll in the MOC program by this Monday, March 31, 2014, in order to maintain their status as "Certified, Meeting MOC Requirements." If you do not log on and enroll by March 31, 2014, you will be reported as "Certified, Not Meeting MOC Requirements" until you do so. Have questions about the ABIM changes? ASCO staff can help you understand what these changes mean for you. Call 571-483-1418 or email moc@asco.org for assistance. You may also reach the ABIM directly by calling 1-800-441-ABIM.
